World Book Day!

3 March 2019 (by schoollogin)

Share A Story From Around The World

World Book Day is next week!
To celebrate, please remember we are dressing up on Thursday 7th March. This does not have to be an extravagant costume, costing lots of money. If you are still considering what your child can come as and are at a loss.....in Year Two we are reading a book titled 'Sophie Scott Goes South' by Alison Lister. This can be found on YouTube and is about a small girl and crew who travel to the Antarctic; characters include the ship's crew, scientists, an artist and explorers. Home clothes and a couple of props for these characters would be fantastic. Many fairytales also originate in different countries if you and your child fancy going down that route. Any problems; just grab a member of staff; we are happy to help out.

In addition; please remember:
The school library is open from 3.20-4.30pm everyday next week for you to come, with your child, to share and borrow stories.
If you have been doing the reading star home challenges, they are due in tomorrow for your child's chance to win a £10 book token.
Finally, if you have any books at home that are set in different places or written in different places, please send them in for your child's class challenge to read as many books from around the world as possible. The winning class will receive a set of books about countries and animals around the world.

Thank you for your support and happy reading!
