At Driffield CE Infant school, we recognise that your child is our responsibility and concern. We want to work in partnership with you, and discuss with you any concerns we may have or that you may have.

It is a priority to inform and involve you at every stage in your child’s time at the school. Since the first priority is your child’s welfare, there may be rare occasions when our concern about your child means that we have to consult other agencies even before we contact you.

The ER Safeguarding Children Partnership has laid down the procedures we follow, and the school has adopted a Child Protection Policy in line with this for the safety of all.

If you want to know more about our procedures or the policy, please click on our Policies tab, speak to the Headteacher, the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Mrs Debbie Sutton who is the Governor with responsibility for Child Protection and Safeguarding.

We are an Operation Encompass school

Operation Encompass is a police and education early information safeguarding partnership enabling schools to offer immediate support to children experiencing domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass ensures that there is a simple telephone call or notification to a school’s trained Designated Safeguarding Lead /Officer (known as key Adult) prior to the start of the next school day after an incident of police attended domestic abuse where there are children related to either of the adult parties involved.

Information is shared with a school’s Key Adult (Designated Safeguarding Lead or Officer) prior to the start of the next school day after officers have attended a domestic abuse incident. This sharing of information enables appropriate support to be given, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.

More information on Operation Encompass can be found at https://www.operationencompass.org/
