Soda bread
Today we had the final session of Cooking Crew for this block and we finished in style with soda bread! The children, revised all of the skills they have learned when measuring dry ingredients and liquid; revisiting the rubbing-in method and chopping sun-dried tomatoes to add to the bread. The children mixed the ingredients to create a sticky dough and finally rolled it into balls, topped with crosses, for the oven.
In addition to cooking, children are always expected to tidy-up after themselves and wash up....so if you need an extra pair of hands at home you know who to ask!
The Crew have been a pleasure and a delight to have and we have enjoyed working with them very much. Thank you to Mrs. Edeson for all of her fantastic recipes and expert guidance.
