Starfish Class have really enjoyed the Hindu Wedding day today! This morning the children were taught about a few of the rituals of a Hindu wedding, and had a go at experiencing them themselves! The 'Pithi ceremony' involved the children making a paste that would make their skin clear and smooth. They also had a go at designing some henna patterns that could have gone on the brides hands or feet. Everyone made a special necklace, which they will give to a partner tomorrow (as we ran out of time today!) which is similar to a ritual in the wedding ceremony.

We had a special Indian picnic lunch which the children really enjoyed! Almost everyone was really surprised to find out that they liked lots of the food!

Starfish and Kingfisher Class united this afternoon to take part in a Hindu Wedding!! Everybody got the opportunity to dress up as a guest and some children were even part of the bridal party! It was definitely a lot of fun!
