Victorian day.

On Thursday the school was transported back in time to the reign of Queen Victoria. The day started in a very somber way with an assembly with boys and girls sat separately. Rev Jackie came and took the prayers in Latin just as Cannon Sharrock did during the 1880-1900's. After this the children took part in marching and drill exercises, handwriting and arithmetic - all sat in rows in silence. Mistress Thackray came and inspected hands, nails and behind ears for cleanliness. In the afternoon the boys took part in wood whittling and technical drawing whilst the girls sewing and making dolly pegs. Everyone had a great day and huge thank you to the parents for dressing the children so wonderfully.
