This week in Seals we have started a new learning sequence in English. We have been reading ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ which has given us a lot of new vocabulary to unpick. We have used our comprehension skills to talk about what has happened in the story, detective skills to understand inference and writing skills to create some sentences containing commands, questions, exclamations, and statements. A lot of us really like to write about the pesky seagulls that keep stealing Mr. Grinlings lunch!

In computing we have been continuing our digital writing topic. We explored the toolbar in a word document and experimented with adding in the use of bold, italic and underlined text. We look forward to learning to select blocks of text and exploring more toolbar functions next week.

We have also had fun this week in our religion and world views lesson. We have been working in groups to come up with an alternative way to tell the Christian creation story. Some of us are doing drama or dance, some are making an art piece, and some are using finger expression. We look forward to perfecting these, next week, ready to perform to each other.
