The children found out about the celebration for Chinese New Year making a dragon, tasting new foods using chopsticks to eat their rice and noodles. It is is the lunar year of the Rabbit and they found out about the different animals in the Chinese calender. They took part in traditional fan dancing and explored different artefacts including, traditional dress, hats, parasols and puppets .We are continuing to find out about the creatures in the sea and the plants. The children have been investigating seaweed from our local beach observing it in a tank and using books to find out what they are called. Next week we are excited to. start our project as part of Environmentalism. We will use the story of 'Duffy's Lucky Escape' to find out out the effect of plastic in our seas, rivers and streams on animals. Have a lovely weekend.
