All about Autumn and Harvest
We have been very busy this week celebrating all things Autumn and Harvest. On Tuesday morning we headed out for a very wet walk to Kings Mill, where we collected sticks and conkers. The children were all smiles and enjoyed looking at the start of Autumn changes to the trees.
This led to some fun craft activities, where the children had to persevere to create a Stickman character, in preparation for a special performance tomorrow. After learning about why we celebrate Harvest, they also used different vegetables to print and create Autumn paintings.
Perseverance is the next value that we are exploring as part of the Young Leaders Award. Yesterday the children were presented with a challenge, where items had been frozen. They had to use different tools, a paintbrush, lolly stick, glue stick and pen to try and rescue the different things. This caused great excitement and there was ice everywhere.
