Badgers Class

26 March 2026 (by schoollogin)

This week, the children have enjoyed Easter activities. At the start of the week, we read The Easter Story and what happened on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The children showed great interest in this and have demonstrated a good understanding of the story. We discussed why people eat hot cross buns at Easter time, and we each had a try! Overall, the Badgers class enjoyed the taste! The children also enjoyed making their Easter cards. We will finish the Easter celebrations tomorrow by visiting church for our whole school worship.

In Maths, we have been consolidating learning on number bonds to 10. We have also revisited composition of numbers 7, 8 and 9.

In Phonics, we have read words ending in 's' (coats, boots), words in which a 's' makes a 'z' sound (visit, queens) and words ending in 'es' making 'iz' sound (torches, foxes, boxes).

In PE, each child had to take on a role of an animal. They had to dance like a lion, monkey, elephant or crocodile, in time with the music.

Tomorrow we will break up for the Easter holidays. We will return back to school Monday 13th April.

Have a great Easter break,

Miss Corrigan and Mrs Chapman
