Kestrel Class13 March 2026 (by schoollogin) |
This week we have been very busy!
On Monday we had a visit from Lekmo, a Buddhist nun who told us the story of the Buddha. The children helped to act out the story and did some good listening!
Throughout the week we have been carrying out different science investigations for National Science Week. We made and tested paper aeroplanes to see which design would go the furthest and why. On Thursday we carried out the dancing raisins experiment and thought about the science behind it and today we did the coke and mentos test which the children found very exciting!
In Maths, we have been learning our 5 and 10 times tables, I wonder if your child at home can remember them?
In English, we have been adding suffixes to words, such as -er, -est and -ly. We then used these words to write sentences about our story, Meerkat Mail. They did a super job.
At the end of the week, we practiced our joins in DT ready to design and make our Meerkat Mail pouches over the next couple of weeks. As a class, we decided that stapling our materials together will work best! The children can’t wait to start making them.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend!
Thanks, Miss Dean.
