Week 3- Science Week!
This week, we have been scientists! The children have observed and taken part in four different scientific experiments: pouring warm water on skittles to create a rainbow as we watched the sugar dissolve, coca cola and mentos to create an explosion (see photo above), making water walk using kitchen roll water and food colouring and flappy fish (using newspaper to create ‘wind’).
The children had a brilliant night on Monday at the disco, so many great dance moves!
In Phonics, we are continuing to read new words with our current digraphs and revise tricky words we have already learned.
In Maths, we are beginning to explore the composition of 10, what two smaller numbers can we put together to make 10? The children have used a tower of 10 cubes to physically break 10 into 2 smaller parts and we have used numicon pieces to find 2 smaller parts to fit together to make 10.
Next Monday and Wednesday are our Parent Teacher Consultation Meetings. Please make sure your double check your time and day. We look forward to sharing the progress your child has made and answer any questions you may have.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Corrigan and Mrs Chapman
