Seal Class

27 February 2026 (by schoollogin)

It has been lovely to welcome the Seals back after the half-term holiday and hear all of their news. This half-term, in English, our focus book is the original story of Paddington. The Seals are focussing on characters and humour in the story. Later, we will be looking at writing instructions to make Paddington's favourite snack; a marmalade sandwich! Linked to the story, in geography, the Seals will be learning about the four countries of the UK. In art, they will be exploring Van Gogh's seascapes and using these as inspiration for their own painting. In maths, our current unit is mass and volume. In this photo, the children are investigating objects that are lighter than nine cubes!

There is a busy and exciting week ahead of us next week too; careers week and World Book Day. Please remember, adults are invited to join us, in the classroom, from 2.30pm on Thursday 5th March for reading instructions to play board games. This is linked to our READ theme (read everywhere and discuss) for World Book Day and it is career's dress up day on Friday 6th March.

Finally, there is still time to get those competition entries in for World Book Day-the closing date is Monday 2nd March. Thank you for the amazing entries received so far!
