Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

This week we welcomed Miss.Mercer into Starfish class. She is on her final teaching placement and will be with us until mid April. Over the weeks she will teach the class more and more but obviously I (Mrs.Jackson) will still be in and around the classroom. 

Phonics next week - /l/ le al apple, beetle, final, metal  , /s/ c ice, face, success space   , /v/ ve give, solve, leave   and tricky words school call different 

In English we will continue Katie Morag and write a postcard from the Isle of Struay. Geography we looked at a compass and the compass points and we will be using a key on a map. In Design Technology this week we learned about chassis and axles and had a go at putting them together on our box ready to transform into a vehicle. 

Maths - we are continuing place value numbers to 20 and using a number line. 

In science we will be looking at the category of Fish and also Amphibians. 

Please make sure PE hoodies are named as we have a few unnamed ones. We have many children that have this ability to sniff items and know who they belong to (a rare talent I'm sure you will agree!) however these ones have not been reunited with owners.
