Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

Next week the children start phase 5 of the phonic scheme. This is where we start teaching all the alternative spelling of the sounds they have previously learned. We will cover 

ai / ay - day, say,play,spray,may,crayon

ow / ou - cloud, sound, about, proud, found

oi / oy - boy, toy, annoy

ee/ ea - sea, read, treat

Maths will continue with greater than/ less than a number, and using a number line. 

In Art we have been painting a colour wheel and mixing our paints to create secondary colours. We will need these skills when we paint our version of a David Hockney landscape. 

Don't forget that we are off to Elmswell on Wednesday so make sure you have suitable clothing and your wellies! On Thursday morning we will be walking around Driffield looking at the different  buildings and streets. We have enjoyed using Google Earth to zoom in on the town - have a go at home!
