Another busy week complete! 

This week, the children enjoyed their first visit to the church! They had a good time exploring All Saints Church, looking for "God's treasure" and they found lots of bibles, candles and crosses! 

In Phonics, our new sounds this week are i, n, m, d. The children have been trying really hard with their oral blending, and this week we have introduced teacher led blending. The children see and sound out each letter on the board, getting quicker and quicker to finally blend the sounds together to make a word (pan, tip, sat).

In Maths, our topic is match sort and compare. This week, we have been sorting out odd socks to make a pair, and sorting out different coloured and shapes buttons into sets. The children are really enjoying this topic, and have shown great understanding. 

Next week, the Early Years staff are holding a Phonics, Reading and Mathematics workshop on Monday afternoon at 2:30pm in the hall. We will provide information about how you can help your child at home, and give out handouts with key phonics information. It would be great to see as many faces as possible. Please enter school via the main entrance just before 2:30pm. We will be finished in time for you to collect your child as normal afterwards. 

Also, next Thursday (25th) in the morning, the children will be returning to church for our harvest experience. The children will learn all about harvest and why it is celebrated, and then we will join a whole school service to sing and dance to the harvest songs we have been learning!
