Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

Well, it certainly feels chillier than when we started a few weeks ago! Please do remember to bring a coat everyday - we do go outside in all weathers, however home time seems the prime slot to get absolutely drenched. 

Next week in phonics we are continuing to review prior knowledge and will focus on these tricky words - was they some
come were there, sure pure. We will also be looking at longer words we can chunk - star/light, tree/top, fresh/ness drift/wood
wind/mill , star/fish.

In maths we are continuing with place value within 10 which will include the vocabulary - fewer, greater than, equal to, less than, more than. 

In PE on a Wednesday we are doing hockey and we certainly have some budding hockey players! On Monday we incorporated a science investigation into our PE lesson with the focus on sight. We threw 5 beanbags into a hoop with our eyes open, one closed and then both closed. Later we recorded our findings into our science books. 

We are in church twice next week. Wednesday y1 will be exploring the Harvest Experience and on Thursday the whole school will be going to church for Harvest Festival.
