Elmswell Farm!

Week 3- what a warm one it has been!

The children loved their trip to Elmswell Farm. They explored the farm, looking at the natural world around them, noticing the difference from their last visit in October! We even spotted the highland cows through the window as we ate our lunch!
A fab day had by all.

This week, we have been learning about trains, looking at both steam and electric powered trains comparing trains from the past and present. The children were fascinated by the high speed bullet trains!

In Maths, we are revisiting the composition of numbers to 10. We have also been practising our subitising skills.

In Phonics, we have looked at words with adjacent consonants ending in s (sports, paints), words ending in s but making a 'z' sound (crowds, trains), and words ending in -es making an 'iz' sound (dresses, splashes).
Please find below some sentences you may wish to practise at home:
The dress gets wet in the rain.
My boots went squelch in the mud.
At the farm I saw a cow and had some lunch.

Have a great weekend in the sunshine,
Miss Corrigan and Mrs Chapman
