Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

The weeks are flying by and another busy week in the Starfish class. 

Our book for this half term is The 100 Decker Bus by Mike Smith and the children are loving it! In history we are learning about Amy Johnson and her achievements which will link in with our trip in a few weeks time to Sewerby Hall. I know many of the class enjoy a Wetherspoons tea so they have been set a challenge to find Amy on their next visit.  

Computing is introduction to animation. We are using Scratch Jnr which is free to download - they are quickly picking up words such as algorithm and sprite. 

In science we have finally planted our beans out. They have grown very quickly and we compared our beans with the one with no water (no growth) and the one with no light (white and spindly) . On Tuesday we are having a walk to Kingsmill woods to look at wild flowers, trees and maybe see if there are any ducklings. Please remember to cover legs with trousers or leggings!
