Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

Well, what a hot ,sunny week! 

We started the week having a class session on the dangers of the sun, how we must wear a hat, slap on the suncream and drink plenty of water. As is the way a discussion about the sun moving and we had an inpromptu lesson outside drawing around our shadows and then checking them 3 hours later. 

We are enjoying reading The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch and we are going to design a pasta salad for Mr.Grinling. So today we taste tested shop bought ones - chicken with honey & mustard, tuna & sweetcorn and cheese & tomato. They had to smell, taste and evaluate each one - some enjoyed it so much they might not need any tea! 

Phonics next week will be recapping the oo/yoo sounds - ue, (clue)  ew, (grew) u-e (tube).  Science will be planting a broad bean seed and learning about growing conditions for plants.
