Super science week!
In the Kingfisher Class this afternoon we were super science week scientists! We have been reading the book 'Gorilla' by Anthony Browne over the last few weeks and we noticed, from the illustrations, that the primates in the zoo did not look very happy. Today we received a message telling us that these primates were to be moved to a safari park so they could roam free. We were all very relieved to hear this!
It was our job to research the type of vessel that would be required to transport 12 gorillas across the sea. We had to decide upon the most suitable materials for the ship, conduct floating and sinking experiments and investigate the issue of weight distribution across the ship. We made some prototypes; some of which were more successful than others!
What a fun-packed science afternoon full of fantastic learning. Well-done, Kingfishers!
All Year Two children will be completing this investigation this week.
