Who can grow the biggest Conker Tree?
Mr Thackray is passionate about growing trees and has a small wood that he planted several years ago. He has been reading that despite there being prolific amounts of conkers this year, horse chestnut trees are in danger in this country.
He has challenged each child in school to grow a ‘conker tree’ and has given them each a conker to plant and nurture. He would like each child to bring back the tree they manage to grow next summer to our summer BBQ and there will be prizes for the tallest and most healthy ones.
