At Elmswell Farm
The Kingfishers had a wonderful trip to Elmswell Farm yesterday in the unexpected sunshine!
Farmer John kindly lead us on a walk around the farm, in the morning. As always, he imparted lots of valuable knowledge about the seasonal work carried out on the farm and we explored the first signs of autumn around us.
In the afternoon, Mr. Toohie generously led some environmental games. Through these, the children had a great deal of fun learning about how bats use echolocation and about how predators and human development can affect wildlife.
We also completed some initial design work for shelters that we are in the process of researching, designing and building.
What a busy day of learning in the great outdoors!
