Is there room on a broom for readers like us?!
We warmly welcomed children and parents to our very first 'Family Book Club' this afternoon. Together, we explored the works of Julia Donaldson, investigating interesting facts about her life (not least that both Julia and her sister wanted to marry their pet cat Geoffrey because they were convinced that he was a prince in disguise!). We shared the story of 'Room on A Broom' and made our own versions of the upgraded model of the broom. All of the models were highly creative and imaginative and it was wonderful to hear the children present their ideas with such confidence and enthusiasm. Thank you to parents and children for a lovely session. Happy reading at home with Julia!
