Bubbles and Snakes!

The first 2 sessions of Science Club have been really messy and exciting! Last week the volcano investigation started with a game of true or false outside and then the children watched a short film clip about volcanic activity. They then created their own baking powder /vinegar experiment using red coloring to enhance the effect!
This week we have been exploring bubbles and finding out different ways to create them using simple ingredients. We filled a clear plastic cup half with oil and half with water. Then we added a blob of food colouring. The adults then dropped in a fizzy tablet and stood back! Our other exploration was creating a very long bubble snake using the top of a drinks bottle, cloth and elastic band. the children were really happy with how well they could blow the mixture into a snake.
Next week we will be making rainbow milk and cornflour gloopy slime.
