It was oat and raisin biscuits on the menu this week at Cooking Crew! Today, the children had to measure liquids carefully as well as dry ingredients. They combined vegetable oil and golden caster sugar first and fondly referred to this as 'sludge' ! As we added the secret ingredients of vanilla extract and cinnamon, we discussed how these smell; some of us really liked the scents and others not so much! Afterwards we combined the flour, oats, egg, bicarbonate of soda and raisins and finally adults and children alike enjoyed getting messy hands when rolling the mixture to bake! We hope everyone enjoyed these tasty treats.
