Hindu wedding
What a fantastic day Kingfishers had learning about Hindu weddings! In the workshop we heard Hindu stories, performed dances including clapping with sticks and dressed in authentic outfits for a wedding. We then held a pretend Hindu wedding ceremony where two lucky children became man and wife!
In the classroom we made mandap models; can your children remember what these are? We made mehndi patterns and played a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony game of hiding the groom's shoe! (Thankfully all shoes were found and no-one had to hop home!). I was very proud with how every Kingfisher enjoyed trying the Indian picnic lunch.
