The important role of surveying the trees in Kingsmill woods.
This week Mrs.J took a select group of children from Y1 & 2 to carry out a very important task of identifying what trees were growing in Kingsmill woods. Armed with a clip board and a Woodland trust sheet the group collected leaves and matched them against the ID sheet. The science National Curriculum states that children must be able to name common plants and trees and this was a great way to get out and about extending the learning.
