Life Cycle of a Butterfly

15 May 2018 (by schoollogin)

The children in Robin Class have enjoyed exploring the different stages of a life cycle using a hula hoop!

The children have been using vests, picture cards and hula hoops to demonstrate the ongoing life cycle of a butterfly. We have learnt that all butterflies have "complete metamorphosis." To grow into an adult they go through 4 stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult. Each stage has a different goal - for instance, caterpillars need to eat a lot, and adults need to reproduce! We have really enjoyed looking at each stage but are keen to find out more - especially gross things!
