Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

The children have discovered how rubbish was collected and sorted in the 1970's as part of our History Mystery this week. They were shocked that households didn't recycle anything at home and the refuse collection was in tin bins! Lots of rubbish was burnt to ashes back then with only card, rags and metal being separated out. The children have enjoyed their theme of People Who Help Us and are looking forward to our theme of farms next term. We are proud of how well the children have been busy with all their learning this half term and they deserve a big rest. Next term the children in Foundation and Year 1 Seals will be dropped off and collected at the front entrance of school and not the usual gate due to  2 weeks maintenance at  the front of the school. A letter has gone home about this tonight. Have a lovely holiday.
