Driffield Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Infant School

What a thrilling week the children have had! We have found out so much about China and celebrations. This week we took part in our own Chinese New Year, Year of the Tiger. The children found out their Zodiac sign too. We listened to the story of how the Zodiac came to be and wrote about it in our group writing time. The children explored treasure boxes with artefacts including fans which they all used  in a special dance. Outside a huge Chinese Dragon the children had made hid lots of children who moved and danced to the percussion music being played by the children. Today a banquet of noodles, rice and vegetable spring rolls were on offer to taste using chopsticks!. Ask your children about their activities and what they have taken part in.
