Lots of work outdoors

In Kingfishers this week we have concluded our learning about Africa. We discovered that the polar bear and lion paw print were found together because the animals lived in a zoo. This led to an interesting outdoor debate about the arguments for and against animals living in captivity and the children thought about their views very carefully. We learned lots of new vocabulary such as extinct and endangered. Time was spent sketching our school so that we could compare this to rural and urban Kenyan schools. Our African masks are well underway as we have used Modroc to create the base; we are really looking forward to decorating them after Easter. This week we have also considered the Easter story; moving around different stations to learn more about each event. We wish all our families a very happy Easter break; filled with sunshine and a bit more freedom outdoors. It has been so wonderful to have the Kingfishers back and we can’t wait to see them after the holiday.
