Year Two home -learners
5 February 2021 (by schoollogin)
Our amazing Y2 home learners have, once again, wowed us with their hard work and excellent attitude to learning. This week, houses have been scoured for 2D shapes and super symmetrical patterns have been created. With the help of our friend, Mr Grinling (Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch) we have become experts in writing different sentence types. A favourite was ‘commands’; secretly, I think, everybody enjoyed being a bit bossy! Homes have been invaded by the most fantastical beasts as we designed our own Arctic animals; thinking carefully about the adaptations they needed to survive in the cold, harsh climate. Superb discussions took place and logical explanations were given when deciding what sort of transport would be useful in the Arctic. We have developed our understanding of the Hindu creation story and presented our ideas in some beautiful lotus flowers. So much has been going on! We hope our friends in school had as much fun doing these activities as we did. A huge thank you to all of the adults at home for making this tremendous learning happen.
