Tour de Yorkshire 2017
We had a great time being part of the local community as the Tour de Yorkshire passed through Driffield on Friday 28th April 2017.
We went out into the streets to experience 'the caravan' pass through town. It was so exciting watching the cavalcade of police motorbikes, and publicity vehicles. We waved our flags, danced along to the music and cheered very loudly as well as enjoying a few free gifts!
Following a delicious Tour de Yorkshire themed picnic in school we were back in town to cheer the cyclists as they raced along Middle Street.
It was great culmination to all the work we had done during the week about the race. We tracked the route and found out were different cyclists came from as part of our geography, wrote newspaper articles and had our own bike and scooter challenges.
