On Thursday 25th September the whole school went to Church for our welcome service. Foundation Stage were very excited about going to Church for the first time with their school friends. We welcomed all the new children to our School family, it was especially exciting to welcome Harry and Benjamin's new baby sister, Emily, she is only 5 days old. Y1 and 2 shared the school Values with the FS children. We sang our favourite hymns and rev Andrew led us in prayers for the new school year. We know it is going to be an exciting one with lots of new things to learn. We also welcomed our new School Council.
We enjoyed celebrating the Beginning of Advent at the Parish Christingle Service on Sunday 1st December. It was lovely to see so many of our families there. Well done Jessica, Lucy, Toby , Elizabeth and Rowanna for reading the prayers so beautifully and clearly. Children and their families have also attended the Mothering Sunday service and the Pets Blessing. We visited Church several times this school year
Links with the Church
We value our church school status and have strong links with our local church, ‘All Saints’ in Driffield as well as with Driffield Methodist Church.
Our school vision reflects the Christian values which are embedded in everything we do.
Children attend daily collective worship and say the school prayer daily.
We encourage reflection and inspire to ensure children experience ‘awe and wonder’ throughout their learning.
As well as teaching children about our Christian faith we teach them about the beliefs of other religions and about the festivals they celebrate.
We celebrate the main Christian festivals of Easter, Christmas and Harvest in Church. Local vicars and Faith Leaders regularly lead worship in our school.
