Christian Values
As a Church School the Christian values and ethos thread through everything we do and are central to our policies and practice, it is through these values that we live out our vision.
We worked together as a school team seeking the views of children. staff, parents and governors in deciding on 6 Key Values which underpin our school aims. This was done during a specially designated 'Values Week' which started with a service in Church where we explored the meaning of several Values. Children participated in a range of activities and discussions during the week to help them decide the ones they thought were the most important to our school. Staff met together to explore the impact of different Values, the views of parents were sought through a questionnaire and Governors met at a dedicated Values and Visions meeting.
Our Values are:
Friendship Honesty, Peace
Perseverance, Creativity, Respect
All children take part in daily Collective Worship which is planned around the school's chosen values as well as the main celebrations in the Christian calendar. However there is always flexibility to consider and reflect on current issues. The values are introduced through key Bible stories.
Through Collective Worship our children are beginning to understand the distinctive features of Anglican practice and the centrality of prayer in worship. Our daily Worship plays a very important part of school life and always starts our school day.
To help us with Collective Worship we welcome our weekly visits from YEAST, who explore bible stories with the children and our fortnightly visits from the vicar of All Saints Church, Rev Stuart Grant
Our school prayer is said daily:
"Dear God bless our school,
Help us to learn together and play together
and help us to make our school
a happy place to be"
Amen
