Hedgehog and Badger class baking buns!
The children explored how flour was made by grinding the wheat seeds from Elmswell Farm using a pestle and mortar. Everyone investigated how to crack an egg, cream the butter and sugar and carefully fold in the flour. The children used different technologies to weigh the ingredients and cook the cake mixture. When the buns were cooled, we melted the chocolate watching it change from a solid to a liquid! Then we poured the chocolate over the buns and added sprinkles, buttons and marshmallows to make either a badger or hedgehog face!
