Please ensure your child can spell the words  above in a sentence as well as part of a list.

The Maths homework this week is a range of problems. If you find your child needs challenging further then change the problems by using different amounts.

Friday 18th November

Homework this week is a 100 square challenge! Ask a grown-up to help you to cut out the 100 square jigsaw and then see if you can put it back together! Use the completed jigsaw to help you to fill in the empty squares on the second sheet.

Spellings this week are all contractions. Please pay close attention to were the apostrophe goes and to which words need to always have a capital letter.

Friday 11th November Homework

As usual, the children's spellings and maths homework activities are in their book bags.

Friday 21st October Homework

The children have been given their spellings and Maths homework today. We will be studying Diwali when we get back to school so it would be fantastic if you could look up some facts and information about the festival for us all to share after the holiday.

Friday 14th October Homework

Maths homework has gone home tonight but not spellings as there are a few more maths questions than usual. Just do what you can! I will send spellings home next week.

Friday 7th October Homework

As usual, the children's spellings and maths homework activities are in their book bags.

Also, following our trip to Sewerby please see if you can find out any more interesting facts about Amy Johnson ready for next week.

Friday 30th September Homework

The children's spellings and maths homework activities are in their book bags.

Friday 23rd September Homework Activities

I have sent home Maths homework in the children's bookbags along with their spellings this week. The Maths tasks are based on the things that they have been learning about in their Maths groups and should therefore be familiar to them.

We are also thinking about our value 'Creativity' next week. If you feel like being creative, please send in pictures or examples of what you get up to (baking, painting, learning new songs, making things etc!)

Friday 16th September Homework Activities

In addition to sending home your weekly spellings sheet, I would also like you to have a go at a couple of Maths Challenges!

This week in maths we will focus on "Squiggleworth". This is how we learn about place value and what each number represents ie 47, it isn't a 4 but 40, 38 - the 3 is 30.

Last week we realised if we know a simple fact we can up our knowledge to solve a bigger problem. If we know 3+4 =7 we also know 30+40=70.

Try these at home and ask an adult to check them

40+50=

10+30=

60+40=

20+60=

400+300=

If I had 70p and you had 20p how much money would we have in total?

I have 20 sweets and you have 30 sweets how many sweets do we have altogether?
